Abstract
1295. Maschinenfabrik und M³hlenbauanstalt G. Luther Akt. - Ges. Dec. 13, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Producers. - A gas-producer having an upper and a lower combustion zone is provided with a device which permits of the use of wet fuel. The device consists of a hollow perforated body a and is placed above the upper zone of combustion so as to communicate, at its ends, with the air. Combustion gases from the upper zone enter and are burnt in the body a, and the heat produced assists in vaporizing water contained in the fuel ; these vapours may be conveyed through flues b to the lower zone of combustion, or allowed to escape. The body a may be formed as a grate of separate bars, but the surfaces must be steep enough to cause the fuel to slide down.
