Abstract
24,899. Gadd, W. Dec. 1. Gas - holders. - Relates to improvements on gasholders having helical guides as described in Specification No. 13,521, A.D. 1887, whereby the holders are given a vertical rise and fall instead of a helical motion. The rollers d, which engage the helical guides c, are mounted on a ring e which is free to rotate horizontally between rollers or other guides h, and the holder is vertically guided by guides k moving between rollers l. The various parts may be attached either to the tank or to the bell, and existing vertical stays may be utilized for the vertical guides. The inner and outer lifts of telescopic gas-holders may be similarly guided.
