Abstract

21,268. Saint Romain, M. de. April 27, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Gas and like engines, igniting in. In magneto - electric machines for igniting the gaseous mixture of internalcombustion engines, high and low tension windings are wound on a single core 2, Fig. 1, through which passes the whole of the magnetic flux due to the inducing- poles N', S', Fig. 2, of the field 1, the number of alternations of the magnetic flux per revolution being equal to half the number of inducing - poles. The armature extensions 3, 4 extend from opposite ends of the core 2 in a direction parallel to the core axis. The circuit of the primary winding 5 is made and broken by means of a collector 7 keyed to an insulating sleeve 8 and engaging with a brush 10. The hightension winding 6 is connected to a terminal 13, which engages in each revolution of the armature with a contact 14 fixed to the stationary insulating plate 15.
