Moulding butter. -A box A, preferably mounted as shown on a frame D, holds butter, which is expressed by a screw-operated plunger B through tapering orifices c in one of its sides C. These orifices may be suitably shaped, and the plunger has projections b<2>, Fig. 7, on its front face registering therewith, to force out the butter, which is cut by a wire or knife. A hinged and solid lid may be secured over the end C and the butter submitted to pressure to rander the mass homogeneous before it is extruded. The inner face of the lid may have a pattern on it, and the box A may be lined with non- conducting material and its sides be made double to hold a cooling-agent.
