Abstract
16,905. Lapeyrade, P. A. J. Aug. 23, 1901, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Armatures; field magnets; inductors for stationary armatures and field m a g n e t .-The fieldmagnet frame of an inductor alternator is built up of four cores a, Fig. 2, of laminated insulated soft iron joined together by pairs of iron cheeks b and pieces c of manganese bronze. Each lamina has the form shown in Fig. 4. Field coils d, connected in parallel, and armature coils e, f, preferably connected in series, are mounted upon the legs of each core, and stirrups g of manganese bronze enable the laminµ to be pressed together and the frame to be fixed on a standard or base. The shaft l for the inductor n is mounted in two phosphor-bronze blocks situated between the pairs of cheeks b. The inductor n consists of a manganese-bronze disk provided with apertures in which are fixed laminated blocks o of insulated soft-iron sheet. The disk is furnished with slits between the apertures to prevent eddy currents.
