Heat Treatment Of Water, Waste Water Or Sewage
(AREA)
Abstract
14,681. Alexander, P. July 17. Emulsions, making.-Solutions of raw caoutchouc or caoutchouc waste are treated with alkali and high-pressure steam for the production of aqueous solutions. The process may be carried out as follows : 1000 kilos of caoutchouc waste are heated under pressure to 150 ‹ C. with 3000 kilos of benzene, and the solution, after removal of undissolved matter, is heated to 150 ‹ C. with 200 kilos of sodium hydrate in 350 kilos of water. The solution is then steam-distilled in a retort to remove benzene, and the aqueous solution of caoutchouc is filtered.
