Silvering.-A silvering and polishing composition for metal articles is made by dissolving 0À8 kilos of silver nitrate in 30 litres of water, precipitating the silver with hydrochloric acid, dissolving the silver. chloride in a solution containing 30 litres of water and 3À3 kilos of sodium hyposulphite, and then adding 1À8 kilos of 8 per cent ammonia solution and 8 kilos of Spanish whitening.
