Abstract
5617. NollÚ, C. V. de. March 17. Axle-trucks or undercarriages ; berths, sleeping.- Consists in a spring mounting for vehicle bodies, and is stated to be applicable to hammocks for ships and railway carriages. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the body c is carried by straight, curved, or bell-crank levers b, which are pivoted at a to the wheel frame and have curved eyes. These eyes slide on curved rods e, which are fixed to the wheel frames at i and to the connecting-piece k. The load is taken up by springs or elastic blocks g, and similar blocks h are inserted between the levers b and the block k. Springs p may be fitted to the upper ends of the levers, which, in that case, are attached to shoes l, these being guided by pins n in slots m in the body frame, as shown in Fig. 1. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the levers are prolonged and are provided with double springs, one on each side of the pivot a.
