Billiards.-In a convertible billiard and dining table, the bed frame is provided with depending guides engaging with slots in the leg frame, and may be raised by means of levers, being supported in the raised position by props hinged to the leg frame and acted on by leaf springs. Props A, hinged at a to transverse bearers B<1> secured to the leg frame B and formed for purpose of adjustment in two screwed parts, bear against leaf springs A<1> and serve, when in a raised position, to support a bed frame C provided with guides D engaging with slots in the leg frame B. The raising of the bed frame C is effected by means of levers E provided with a roller e<1> and a fulcrum pin e resting in a notch E<1> formed on the end rail of the leg frame B, the levers E being slid upon a shelf E<2> when not in use. In a modification, shown in Fig. 6, screwed props A are fixed to the underside of a bed frame C provided with guides D engaging with slots in the leg frame B ; the bed frame is lifted by means of levers E fulcrumed on a pin e and formed in two hinged parts, the outer part e<3> of which may be turned under the projecting part of the bed frame C when not in use. When in a raised position, the bed frame C is temporarily supported by pivoted props a<1>, and the cross-rails B<1> are removed and placed under props A, the props a<1 >being then removed and the weight of the bed frame C taken by the cross-rails B<1>; or the props A may be fixed 'to the cross - rails. When the bed frame is lowered, the rails carrying the props may be turned upside down ; or the cross-rails may be fixed in the leg frame, in which case the props are carried on the underside of the bed frame so as to be capable of being slid.
