2221. Brown, A. A. Feb. 4. Folding cardboard boxes.-A folding cardboard box for holding biscuits &c. is made from a blank cut and scored as shown in Fig. 1. The lid of the box is formed by section 1 of the blank, and the bottom by section 3. In setting up the box, Fig. 2, the end-pieces of section 2 are turned up and the flaps 3<a> are turned in so as to cover the base part 3 when the latter is turned into position. The end-pieces of section 4 fold inside those of section 2. The flaps 1<a> are next turned inside the box and prevent the pieces 3a from springing up during the process of filling. The flaps forming the lid of the box are, finally, turned into position.
