Conductors, such as those used in sparking-plugs, are insulated by wrapping the conductor with mica, fitting a porcelain or like tube over this, and then covering the tube with wrappings of mica or washers of mica held between two nuts on the conductor, or between a nut and a shoulder. The Provisional Specification states that the porcelain tube may be placed directly over the conductor.
