Abstract

23,933. Pinch, W. H., and French, G. F. Nov. 5. Tape for heading curtains is provided with one or two rows of eyelets in which engage hooks for suspending the curtain from a pole or from rings sliding on a pole. The tape b may be provided with a drawstring d, as shown in Figs. 2 and 4, or it may be plain, or draw-strings may be woven in the tape. Tubular tape may also be employed, and the eyelets may be inserted through one or both thicknesses. When two rows of eyelets are employed, as shown in Fig. 2, the hooks fare formed with two extremities for engaging the eyelets c. If only one row of eyelets is used, the hooks may be formed with a kink g, Fig. 4, above the point where the extremity engages the eyelets, so that they will not become detached without the use of force. When oval eyelets are used, the ends of the hooks are broadened out, as shown in Fig. 6, so that it is necessary to turn them sideways to attach or detach them. In other modifications, two rows of eyelets may be employed and the tape be stretched between them, and there may be two draw-tapes. Or there may be only one row of eyelets in the upper edge of the tape, which edge is left free, the draw-tape being situated between the two rows of stitching.
