Abstract

21,684. Union Elektricitõts - Ges. Oct. 9, A.D. 1903, [date applied for under Patents Act, A.D. 1901]. Motors, alternating cur. rent.-In order that the direction of rotation of a repulsion motor may be reversed without shifting the brushes, and at the same time to compensate the armature reaction, an additional short-circuited winding is provided on the stator, displaced 90‹/p from the principal winding as indicated in Fig. 3, 2p being the number of poles on the stator. To reverse the motor, the auxiliary winding is opened and used as the principal winding, while the other winding is short-circuited.
