Embossing. - A machine for moulding or embossing sheets of gunpowder, to be afterwards coiled up as described in Specification No. 21,204, A.D. 1904, [Abridgment Class Ammunition &c.], consists of two rolls 1, 2, the former carrying the moulding or embossing wheels, between which the sheets of gunpowder, previously rolled to uniform thickness, are passed. The roll 1 is mounted in vertically-sliding bearings 4, which are adjusted by means of micrometer screws 6 to regulate the depth of impres sion on the gunpowder sheet. Metal strips 8 tangential to the surface of the roller 1 at their lower extremities are provided to prevent the sheets of gunpowder from adhering to the embossing- wheels.
