12,876. Fisher, F. L. June 7. Brakes; mud guards.-A combined brake and mud guard 11, Fig. 2, is pivoted on an arm 8, which is normally held vertical. The lower end of the arm 8 is secured on a shaft which is pivoted in a bracket 5 and is formed with a lever 4 connected to an operating-lever 2 by a rod 3. The mud guard is corrugated, and formed so as to overlap the sides of the periphery of the wheel. It is held horizontal, when the arm is in the normal position, by means of a spring 14, Fig. 3, which bears upon a triangular block 13 on the arm.
