Cigars and cigarettes.-A paste, which can be ignited by rubbing on the striking-material commonly used on match boxes, is applied to the end of a cigarette or cigar, to enable the cigar to be lighted. A mixture of potassium chlorate and bichromate, manganic dioxide, and cascarilla or tobacco dust, with or without powdered lime, is made into a paste with gum or glue and applied in a warm state to the end of the cigar or cigarette by dipping &c. In Fig. 1, a is the wrapping of the cigarette, b the tobacco, and c the ignitible tip.
