Abstract

Incandescent gas burners; globe and chimney holders.- To minimize the shadow cast by an incandescent gas burner, the upper end of the burner tube a is closed by a disc b and slots c, which may be covered with wire netting, are formed round the tubes ; the gaseous mixture passes through the slots c. The mantle may be supported by means of a socket formed in the disc, and prevented from swing- ing by means of curved holders d which may form a continuous r i n g round the burner head. Similar holders f support a chimney. Radial arms h, which support the holders d, f, may also support a hood or cap placed over the burner. In a modification, the upper end of the burner tube is covered by a perforated disc through which the air and gas pass, and the flame is deflected by means of a second disc placed above.
