9713. Ullmann, M. April 28. Hinges.-Relates to rising hinges for doors, windows, &c., the speed of swing being adjustable. The upper part 2, Figs. 1 and 2, secured to the door, carries a movable collar 4 and turns on a bolt 3 on the fixed part 1. The projection 5 on the collar 4 bears in the curved recess 6 in the part 1. A screw 8 passes through the arm 7 on the collar 4 and bears on a lug 10 on the part 2 which extends through a recess 9 in the collar 4. The position of the arm 2, and therefore that of the projection 5 on the steeper or flatter parts of the recess 6, are regulated by the screw 8 or by wedge-sbaped pieces inserted between the arm 7 and lug 10.
