Walls.-In the formation of cavity walls, headers a shown in plan in Fig. 2, provided with dovetail grooves b at the ends and rectangular grooves c in the centre, interlock with plain quarries d', Fig. 9, and with outer and inner stretchers d, Figs. 3, 4 and 5, constructed with projections e, to engage with the grooves b, and with projections and grooves g, f on their upper and lower edges. The outer end of the headers may be rabbeted, as indicated at n, the outer stretcher being modified accordingly, and dovetail grooves and projections l, k, Fig. 9 may be formed on the headers. The bricks so constructed are arranged as shown in Fig. 9, and the space n' may be filled with cement, or the centre quarries may be dispensed with. For laying in division or boundary walls, dovetail projections and grooves are formed on the ends of the bricks.
