Abstract

7. Simpson, D., and Simpson, J. J. Jan. 1. Perambulators.- Folding perambulators are made with rigid sides suspended by straps from U - shaped springs 1, 2, as described in Specification No. 56, A.D. 1887 ; the springs are crossconnected at each end by folding links 7, 8, carrying sliding eyes 15, 16, and are pivoted together at the crossing point 9, and at 10 and 11 either to the springs or to bars 12 rigidly secured to the same. The wheels are mounted on stud axles 3, 4 on the springs, and the ends and bottom of the body consist of flexible fabric 26, so that, on releasing the thumb-screw 9 and turning the handle in line with the body, the perambulator may be folded as shown in Fig. 6. Additional rigidity to that afforded by the handle is given by an internal stretcher, Fig. 7, which may carry two seats 28, 29.
