Abstract

26,014. Doulton, H. L., and Bean, H. Nov. 28. Attaching valves to bottles; plug cocks.-A tap, especially applicable to stoneware bottles for beer, is preferably formed of a metal plug a, which can rotate freely in a cork &c. bush b fixed in the taphole. The plug is fixed to the bottle by means of a clip f, which engages an annular groove g formed in a boss around the taphole, the clip being introduced into the groove through a slot h at the edge of the boss. The plug is provided with a nozzle e, and, when the tap is turned so that the nozzle points downwards, liquid leaves the bottle by way of a hole d in the plug, and a hole c in the cork bush.
