Abstract

22,985. Weisse, F. C. Oct. 23. Wheels with air-compressing appliances.-Pneumatic tyres are automatically inflated while the vehicle is in motion. The piston-rod g of a pump h, attached to the tyre valve, is connected to a pin e, which extends between the spokes, and is fixed in a lug d of a ring c, carried on a circular disc b, mounted eccentrically on the fixed axle a. When the vehicle moves, the spokes carry the pin e round, causing the ring c to revolve on the disc b, and so to impart a reciprocating motion to the piston which inflates the tyres. After a sufficient degree of inflation, the pump runs inoperatively.
