Propelling a n d steering.-An aÙrial machine is lifted by means of two propellers 26, 27 rotated in opposite directions by bevelwheels 8, 10 and a bevel pinion 14 driven by chain gearing from a shaft 18. The propeller shafts and the bevel gearing are mounted in a frame 4, which can be turned on trunnions 13, 14 by means of a lever arm 25 to vary the direction of action of the propellers. The trunnion bearings are mounted in a frame 3 supported by uprights 2. A rudder 30 is carried by an annular wheel 29 adjusted by means of a pinion 32 and a winch handle 33.
