Stoppers ; refilling, preventing.-The sleeve or tube f, mounted within the casing l, is adapted to be closed at its outer and inner ends by the balls i, c, which are provided with stems j, h, d, b and projecting wings g, e, the stem b of the ball c being connected to the hollow glass float a. The stem d and ball i are loaded with small shot. The casing l, which is made in two parts, is formed with apertures n for the passage of the liquid, and with apertures m, k for the stems j, b. Above the stem j are placed two washers o, q, with a weak spring p between them, this spring acting on the ball i, to prevent refilling. The washer q is surmounted by a baffle-plate r, Fig. 7, to prevent the ball i from being tampered with. An external hood s, or an internal hood, adapted to receive an ordinary cork or stopper, is fixed to the bottle neck by a suitable cement. When the bottle is inverted to pour out the contents, it is given a slight shake, to cause the ball i to leave its seat ; the ball c being held away from its seat on the tube f by the action of the float a, the liquid is free to pass out through the apertures n in the casing l.
