Stoppers; refilling, preventing.-A bottle or like vessel for containing spirits &c. is formed with two seats b, c for the valves d, e, and with a bridge-piece h below the seat c. The valve d has a stem f, which passes through a central aperture in the valve e, and through an aperture in the bridge-piece h. The valve d is secured by two spring-pressed or pivoted arms or spurs, such as i, Fig. 7, which fold up to permit the insertion of the stem f through the bridge-piece, and then open out, as shown. The bridge-piece is closed on its underside, to prevent the entrance of liquid through the central hole, and to protect the liquid from contact with the metal of the valves &c. The valve d is formed with a boss d<x>, Fig. 5, which limits the movement of the valve e, and the valve e has a boss e<x>, Fig. 6, which enters a recess in the bridge h. The valves permit the liquid to be poured out, but prevent refilling. In a modification, the distance between the valves is increased. The bridge h is preferably made integral with the neck of the vessel, but it may consist of a metal or other plug k, Fig. 9, inserted in the neck, and secured in the same manner as the stem f.
