Abstract
4857. Hunter, W. A., and Currie, E. March 2. Envelopes.-The blank of an envelope, adapted for use also as a return or reply envelope, is of the form shown in Fig. 1, consisting of the usual front a having gummed side flaps d and the usual closing- flap e, the back b, and an additional flap f with gummed edges g. The complete envelope is shown in Fig. 3. The sender encloses the letter &c. in the envelope, folds the flap f inside the envelope, and closes it by folding and securing the flap e over the back in the usual manner, the address being written on the front a. For the return, the flap e is torn off, and the flap g is folded and stuck down over the front a to close the envelope and cover the old address, the new address being written or printed on the outside of the flap f which is now exposed.
