Windscreens. - Relates to windscreens for motor and like vehicles of the kind comprising a number of hinged sections which are collectively supported in a detachable manner at both sides of the vehicle and arranged so that the screen can be detached at either side and collapsed by movement towards the other side. The screen sections 1, Figs. 2 and 4. which are hinged together about a vertical bar 7, are provided at their outer edges with vertical supporting members 6 having small downwardly-projecting portions 11 which form spigots for entering sockets 12 arranged on the side of the vehicle, either spigot being easily removable from its socket by giving the screen a slight lift on the side desired. Each socket is preferably fitted with a spring- pressed plunger 23, Fig. 8, adapted to engage a circumferential groove 24 on the spigot 11. Each screen section comprises a transparent panel of celluloid or like material surrounded by rigid upper and lower horizontal members 2, 3 hinged together and vertical members 6, all the rigid members being bound with leather or like material. Side screens 13 of similar construction may be pivotally mounted on the side members 6. Instead of being fixed to a side of the vehicle the socket member 31, Fig. 11, may be mounted on horizontally-extending bar 27 of rectangular or other non-circular section so that the screen may be capable of adjustment towards or away from the occupants. In such a construction a single screw may be employed both to secure the spigot in the socket and the socket member on the bar 27, or the socket member may be formed of two readily-separable portions. A clip 35 may be provided to engage both spigots 11 so as to hold the screen in the collapsed condition, as shown in Fig. 2.
