Abstract

Feedwater, supplying and controlling.-A closed receptacle b, Fig. 1, is placed above a boiler a and is connected thereto by pipes which extend from the bottom and top of the receptacle nearly to the bottom of the boiler and to the low-water level respectively, the latter pipe being fitted with a ball-float valve preferably of the form shown in Fig. 3. When the valve is open, steam passes into the receptacle and water into the boiler, and when the valve is closed, the steam in the receptacle condenses and water is drawn through the supply pipe h, Fig. 1.
