Abstract

21,423. Baxter, H. N. Oct. 2. Windows; glazing windows. - Sound-proof windows are formed by two or more sheets of glass or the like placed parallel, or otherwise, and bedded on rubber &c. The glass b, Fig. 1, may consist of several small panes, and the inner pane may be mounted in a hinged frame c to facilitate cleaning. Instead of two sheets, a hollow pane of rectangular, circular, or other shape may be cast or blown, or formed by cementing or fusing the edges of glass sheets ; the interior may be exhausted and strengthened by perforated partitions.
