In a number of longitudinal slots in a plate d, mounted in a vessel a, filtering-bags a<1> are suspended. Each bag consists of several filtering-cloths alternating with perforated-metal supporting-screens. The edge of each bag is made to spread out over the edge of the slot in the plate d, and is held down by bolted cross-bars. The filtering-units may be inverted.
