Yarns and threads, finishing; fibres, treating.- Relates to apparatus for dyeing, bleaching, treating with mordants, washing, or otherwise treating textile materials by circulating the liquid through them. A rectangular tub 1 is mounted on trunnions 9 in bearings on the heads of hydraulic rams 7 carried by a wheeled frame 3 so that it can be run over and lowered into the tank 5. A crank and spur gearing 12 is provided on one of toe ram heads to turn the tub, which may be held by a ratchet and pawl 15. Covers 18, 19 held by clamping bolts 22 close the end of the tub and are provided with sight windows 36. Perforated partitions 29, 30 are fixed in the middle of the tub, and movable perforated partitions 33 are placed under the covers, being pressed on to the material by springs 34. Liquid from the tank is circulated by a pump 17<a> and enters the tub through one trunnion 9, flows through the perforated partitions between which the material is placed, and finds an exit through the bottom valves 25 which are controlled by ratchet levers 26. In a modification shown in Fig. 5, the liquid is introduced under a perforated false bottom 57 and flows out through the perforated cover 64 when the tub is inverted and lowered into the tank. The cover in this form is held by cross-bars and clamping-screws 65, but the arrangements for lifting and turning are similar in each case.
