Abstract

5686. Weiss, J. M. March 7. Disc-engine and inclined-shaft types.-The frame a and covers b, c are arranged so as to form two ring chambers b<1>, c<1>, which combine to form a common chamber at their upper parts. The shaft d carries a piston disc g provided with a semi- circular piston g<1>, and a similar piston h<1> is secured to a ring h which rotates on a bearing f. The passages A, B, for the admission and exhaust of pressure water or other fluid, open into both ring chambers, and one piston oloses the upper part while the other is operative in the lower part of its chamber. Each chamber may have two or more pistons, and the piston discs may be geared together, in the case of a pump, while the inclined piston is arranged independently of the shaft.
