Auxiliary generators; tubes,water; water-circulation, promoting.-A series of "auxiliary heaters C are fitted in the flues of a boiler, each consisting of a set of curved tubes E, Fig. 3, inserted in top and bottom headers so as to form a cylinder of tubes. The headers are inclined in the same direction or alternately in opposite directions, or each header may be doubly inclined as shown in Fig. 4. In place of a single bottom header, two may be employed, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 3. To promote circulation, one or more tubes may cross each cylinder directly from the bottom header to the top, or all the heaters may be connected to a circulation pipe below them, through which the water is forced by a screw propeller G. The headers may be straight or wavy in form, and there may be two concentric sets of tubes to each heater.
