The motor A, mounted on the bottom tube, has a toothed pinion b carried on a portion of the crank shaft projecting through the casing. This gears with an internally-toothed wheel e mounted on a spindle d carried by an extension of the casing and furnished with a chain-wheel f. The pedal crank shaft k is provided with a pair of chain-wheels, either in one piece or suitably secured together, which can be driven by the pedal crank through a suitable one-way clutch. One of the chain-wheels is geared by a chain to the motor through the wheel f, and the other is geared to the rear driving-wheel.
