Abstract

19,592. Lamplough, H., and Lamplough, F. Oct. 1. Delivery, regulating; relief devices.-Consists of a pump for automatically controlling the supply of water to instantaneous steam generators or the supply of oil to the oil burners of such generators, and for other purposes. Between the pump cylinder k<3> and the suction chamber k<8> are two passages, one controlled by an ordinary non-return valve k<18> and the other by a spring valve k<10>. Within the suction chamber a lever k<9> is pivoted on the end of a rod kll, pressed to the right by a spring k<12>, and to the left by the steam or other pressure acting on a diaphragm k 14 . The lever k<9> receives a small movement from the pump-rod through the link k<5>&c., and, according to the position of the rod k<11>, the valve k<10> is held open for a longer or shorter part of the delivery stroke. A hand-pump l is fitted for use in starting. The spring k<12> is adjustable by means of a lever k<16> and nut.
