Water drains away at h, the incline f preventing it from being drawn up by the outgoing steam. Any water carried up the passage b drains away through the openings shown. Several such separators may be placed on one steam pipe m, as shown at o, o, Fig. 4, all having a common drain pipe p, which increases in diameter as it approaches the final discharge pipe r.
