Abstract
6801. Parker, F. W. April 1. Condensers.-A mixture of air and vapour, preferably water vapour, is used as the cooling-agent for condensing steam from engines &c. The water vapour produced with the aid of a source of heat F, or by spraying pipes N, mingles with air entering through perforated plates H or R, and is drawn by suitable means I through the tubes D, round which the gas &c. to be cooled or condensed is passed. The tubes are held in a casmg A which has an inlet B and outlet C. The inlet B may consist of a tapering pipe to expand the incoming fluid.
