A boss E is fixed by a set-screw on the end of a horizontal arm S, mounted on the top of a pedestal B at the back of the saw-bench A. The arm F is pivoted to a forward projection or lug on the boss E by the bolt f<1> and is prevented from falling below the horizontal position by stops at e<3>. To the outer end of F is connected by bolt and slot a front guard J. A riving knife K of corrugated section is connected to a backward projection or lug on the boss E.
