4201. Ramage, C., [Ramage, A. S.]. Feb. 27. Treatment, special methods of; fumigating; inhalations.-Relates to the treatment of tuberculosis or other diseases by means of ozonized air combined with terpene peroxide. The Figure shows one form of apparatus for producing the terpene peroxide &c. Compressed air from the vessels C passes through a reducing-valve D<1> to an ozonizer B, and thence to a vessel A containing terpene hydrocarbon, preferably oil of eucalyptus or oil of turpentine. Terpene peroxide is produced by the action of the ozone on the terpene hydrocarbon, and escapes with the ozonized air through the outlet A<1>. The apparatus is used to fumigate the patient's room. The terpene peroxide forms a layer of terpene on the mucous membranes treated, which prevents irritation if ozonized air alone is subsequently used. Instead of using the apparatus shown, the air of the room may be ozonized and sprayed with terpene hydrocarbon at intervals.
