The jib consists of a triangular structure A B C pivoted at C to the apex of a triangular frame C D E. The end B of the jib is connected by a link to a nut F engaging a screw H, by rotating which the outreach of the jib is varied. The nut F is also connected to a distance-link G F. Modifications may be made in the variable screw connection between the point B and the supporting-frame ; the nut F, for instance, may be fixed at B, the screw H then entirely replacing the link B F.
