An outer casing a, having a door b, contains the oil reservoir c, through which pass one or more airsupply pipes d, the lower end or ends of which are flared. Upon the upper end of the air-supply pipe is mounted the burner e, above which is a metal globe f, i the upper end of which is fitted a metal cylinder g, having a flaring mouth over the flame. Air enters to support the combustion through the air holes d, through openings h in the top edge of the globe, an i through openings k in the external part i of the burner and also in the lower gallery. By this arrangement, four vertical or nearly vertical air currents are directed to the flame.
