The rubber tyre e, shown in section in Fig. 7, is secured to the rim c by sheet - metal clips a, one of which is shown in plan in Fig. 2. The edges b of the clips are bent inwards, and are preferably serrated to engage in the rubber. The clips are placed at intervals along the rim, and are fixed in position by rivets d, bolts, or tongues pressed out of the clips and passed through the rim. In a modification, the clips are held by the ends of the spokes.
