11,856. Crane; W. June 30. Sliding bolts; locks, key.-Relates to means whereby a sliding bolt for a door &c. may be released from outside. In one arrangement, the bolt is controlled by a spring and operated by a handle c, and may be provided with an indicator. The hasp or staple d is hinged at one end to a plate e, and the other end has a quadrant bar f, which passes through the door frame and is secured by the bolt of a lock h engaging a recess g in the bar. In a modification, the hasp or staple is formed with two bolts fitting into slots in the door frame, and is secured in position by a lock bolt. When required, the quadrant may be unlocked, and the hasp moved about the pivot so as to release the bolt. According to the Provisional Specification, a spindle for operating the bolt may extend through the door and be provided with holes or projections for the engagement of a key.
