Abstract
7529. Perthold, A. April 24. Cleaning bottles.-Fig. 1 shows a front view of the machine. The frame E is reciprocated on the pillars B by means of the crank l and connecting- rod f. Spiral springs g are employed to render the movement smooth. The bottles are carried in holders H, with their necks in shot receptacles u, which are provided with water jets, supplied through the hose d<1>, pipe d<2>, branches d<3>, swing joints d<4>, and pipes f<1>. The tops s<2> of the holders H can be slipped up or down in the side plates s by means of a hand-lever and cam. The holders H are pivoted in brackets p secured to the rods a, and may be rotated by means of hand-wheels ; spring-held latches are employed to prevent accidental rotation. By means of an eccentric and oscillating lever, a clutch on the driving-shaft i is automatically disconnected, and the machine stopped after a certain number of reciprocations of the frame E.
