Abstract
6766. Anderson, J. C. April 10. Passengers, for conveying; tricycles; quadricycles; multicycles; convertibles. -The invention is described as applied to a convertible quadricycle for four riders. The frame consists of three parts A, B, C. The front part A, carrying a driving- wheel, saddle, and handle - bar, is jointed to the frame B by a vertical head 1, 14. The frame B is mounted on two lateral wheels, and is fitted with a seat for two riders and suitable mud guards 19, 21. The rear frame C also carries a driving- wheel, saddle, &c., and is connected by doublehinged joints 27 to the frame B. Steering may be effected by either the front or rear rider, the former operating the handle - bar 27, which carries a toothed piece engaging a toothed segment fixed to the frame B, and the latter controlling a handlebar 15 fixed to the rear part of the frame B. Either the front or rear frames A, C can be detached so as to convert the cycle into a tricycle. Additional sections similar to B may be interposed between the front and rear parts if required.
