4580. Stone, J. H. March 10. Oil-lamp burners.-The size and brilliancy of the flame are stated to be increased, without increasing the size of the wick or the consumption of the oil, by forming the wick-tube of superposed copper and zinc plates C, D, as in Fig. 2, or by placing such plates C', D' in proximity to the wick or arranging them as extensions of the wick-tube H, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, which Figures illustrate the application of the invention to a tubular lantern, the air supply being evenly distributed by the perforated parts of the burner body.
