Oil-lamp burners.-In burners in which the wick-tube A is supplemented by a head D, the durability of the burner is increased by forming the head D of asbestos, instead of making it of metal, porcelain, or the like. A thin metal cover G prevents the ignition, when the lamp is being lit, of any oil which may have been absorbed by the asbestos while the lamp was not in use.
