Abstract
2729. Greenwood, W. Feb. 12. Tripod stands.-A tripod stand for cameras and the like has legs each composed of three rods a, b, c. The outer rods a, c are connected at their lower ends by a clip d, through which the rod b can slide. A band h, surrounding the rods a, b, is fastened to the rod a, and has guide - wings j<1> for the rod c. A similar band g, with wings j, is fastened to the rod c, and surrounds the rods b, c. When the rods are parallel as shown, the inner rod can slide freely between the outer rods, but when these are sprung apart, as shown in dotted lines, preferably by the means described in Specification No. 14,652, A.D. 1898, the rod b is gripped by the bands. A spring portion f of the clip d aids in gripping the rod. The wings on the bands may be omitted when round rods are used.
