56. Etten, H. M. van, and Greenfield, H. Jan. 1. Fuel.-Coal dust or slack is mixed with water so as to form a thin paste, which is boiled and mixed with alum, sal soda, sulphur, and whiting. The heating is continued until a plastic mass is obtained for moulding into blocks. When anthracite coal dust is used, liquid asphaltum is also added to the boiling mass. A fuel which can be utilized without being moulded may be made of a mixture of anthracitic and bituminous coal dusts, water, alum, sal soda, and whiting.
