Fuel.-Anthracite briquettes may be made from a mixture of anthracite dust and pitch with an agglutinant obtained by adding water and peat, or sawdust, to a heated mixture of resin, soda crystals, common soap, petroleum, and water. Natural or artificial bitumen may be used instead of pitch to a greater or less extent, and caustic alkali may be employed in making the agglutinant. The materials described in Specifications No. 20,156, A.D. 1896, and No. 10,502, A.D. 1898, may be used, in whole or in part, instead of the agglutinant above described.
